Chanda Glendinning

'My sculptural work draws from my interest in the rapid evolution of our means of
communication, and the implications this holds for personal interactions. Modern
technology and virtual communications have enabled us to share and acquire
information on a global level.'

'I translate these thoughts on our modern communication systems into formally
arranged sculptural works composed of groups of softly gleaming white slip cast
components. Speaking in practical terms, when creating multiples it makes sense to use
a mold and then cast the components, rather than creating each one individually.'

I think everyone would be interested in Chanda's work, how she displays her work and how she works with her concept.

Andrew Gilliatt

'With my functional pottery, I am designing and fabricating objects with the intent
to create visibly dynamic forms that with the use of color and imagery are expressive,
visually inviting, and easily accessible as objects for domestic use.'

I think Gillian would be interested in this work as he shows different ways of making bowls, pots ect.

'I am fascinated how we personalize and define ourselves through the objects we
use and accumulate. The clothes we wear, the cars we drive, the things we decorate and
furnish our homes with - all of these objects reflect our personality and aesthetic
proclivities both publicly and privately'

''A screen divides space and unites it. Seeing what lies on the other side invites the viewer in,
and yet access is forbidden. I seek to activate space by building screens. They act as
architecture, as psychological separation, as filter, and distiller.''

''I inscribe my work with greater personal meaning using text and labor intensive surface
decoration. I write letters and journal into the wet clay before rendering the text inaccessible
by cutting through or enclosing it.''

Sarah's work   reminds me of Laura's project, building, ingraving, use of color tho attract viewer in a different direction of thought.

Krista Grecco

..
''I work with both the human and animal figures because it is a direct way to
illustrate emotions. I work with clay becaus
e it is a direct way to work with form,
volume and surface. Flesh, folds, fabric and fur lend life to my sculptures.''
i think this work could relate to the work amy is doing, introducing animals into her work, i also think the
statement can conect with Amy's work.

Craig Clifford

''my work  is about transfermation and making common objects more than they are through exsessive colour and humer.''

the work itself reminds me of Emma Kings work, in some ways it looks gruesome, but the more you look at it the more you understand it.

''Through my work I am echoing the characteristics of a complex system. Seemingly
disparate events align to form a whole that is not predictable from  the characteristics of            each part.'

 ''The sculpture is a
physical record of its making, and a reflection of its own history. Breaking is an essential part   of
this process.''

Cynthia Giachetti

''My work deals with a profound sense of loss and the potential for
metamorphosis. It is reminiscent of geology and archeology’s concerns with the layering
of time, place, absence, presence and process.''

''exploring the tension between both the past and the present that is also personal and
                     communal.''
